The BSG is is an organisation focused on the promotion of gastroenterology within the United Kingdom - the website contains information on their research activities.

University of Bristol  
Bristol Randomised Trials Collaboration (University of Bristol)

Conducts trials in both primary and secondary care settings, and in many different disease areas, including mental health, diabetes, child health, and cancer.
 
Clinical Trials and Evaluation Unit (CTEU) Bristol

Formed in 2003 the Bristol based Clinical Trials and Evaluation Unit (CTEU) has grown from a handful of talented individuals to over forty professionals, broadly split across six specialist teams. The unit is hosted in the School of Clinical Sciences, University of Bristol.
INVOLVE  

INVOLVE
A national advisory group that supports greater public involvement in NHS, public health and social care research. INVOLVE is funded by the NIHR and they share knowledge and learning on public involvement in research.

James Lind Alliance  
James Lind Alliance (JLA)

The JLA facilitates Priority Setting Partnerships. These bring patients, carers and clinicians together to identify and prioritise for research the treatment uncertainties which they agree are the most important.

The goal of AHSNs is to improve patient and population health outcomes by translating research into practice, and developing and implementing integrated health care services.

NIHR Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care (CLAHRC)
CLAHRCs are collaborative partnerships between universities and the surrounding NHS organisations, focused on improving patient outcomes through the conduct and application of applied health research.

The CLAHRC network comprises of 13 local CLAHRCs across England. For the South West:

MRC - Medical Research Council   Medical Research Council (MRC)
The MRC encourages and supports research with the aim of maintaining and improving human health.
